Accessibility
The Chef Out West is committed to making this site usable for everyone, regardless of ability. Whether you're using a screen reader, navigating by keyboard, or browsing on a small screen, I want you to be able to find a recipe and actually make it.
I'm working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is an ongoing effort rather than a finished project, and I review and update the site as I become aware of issues.
Some of what I'm actively working on:
- Clear heading structure and readable text sizing
- Descriptive alt text on recipe and process images
- Sufficient color contrast across text and buttons
- Keyboard friendly navigation
Some elements on this site, including embedded ads, video players, and certain plugins, are provided by third parties and may not be fully within my control. I work with these partners where possible to improve accessibility on their end too.
If you run into any part of this site that's difficult to use or access, please let me know at josh@thechefoutwest.com, with a description of the issue and the page it happened on. I'll do my best to fix it.
