Big Mac Rice Paper Croissant

This Big Mac Rice Paper Croissant takes all the classic fast-food flavors you love and twists them into something crispy, melty, and wildly fun. Seasoned beef, pickles, cheese, and sesame crunch wrapped in crackly rice paper. It’s a recipe for elevated nostalgia and I'm telling you, I can't get enough!

Lately, I’ve been having way too much fun reimagining the classics. After I made a Big Mac Rice Paper Spiral for my mom, equal parts nostalgic and delicious, I couldn’t resist taking the Big Mac for another spin.

As with the spiral, I skipped the bun and went with rice paper here, because, let's face it: I am obsessed with rice paper lately. Adding to my collection of Rice Paper Recipes is one of my favorite things to do on this site. For this recipe, I'm rolling all those familiar Big Mac flavors into a croissant-shaped twist. Because...why not?

I love exploring how far I can stretch an idea without losing the magic of what makes it great. For me, rice paper is a super easy way to do that. I’ve been putting it through every "test" I can think of and it just keeps delivering. I've made brunch spirals like Bacon, Egg and Cheese and Croque Madame, hearty options like Chicken Parm and a Cuban Sandwich Spin, dinner favorites like Pepperoni Pizza and Spanakopita, and even dessert territory with Pistachio Baklava.

Similar to all the crispy rice paper recipes that have come before it, this one hits all the right notes. Crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, and packed with seasoned beef, pickles, cheese, and sesame crunch. I finished mine with my Punchy Burger Sauce, and yes, it absolutely pulls the whole thing together.

It’s fun, slightly ridiculous in the best way, and might just be my favorite bite of the week.

Why this Big Mac croissant works

Rice paper gives you that shatteringly crisp exterior while keeping everything inside hot and gooey. Shaping it like a croissant makes it feel playful and intentional, and every bite delivers that unmistakable Big Mac flavor without the bun.

"It's like my two favorite things had a baby. Seriously."

Big Mac Rice Paper Croissant

A crispy rice paper croissant stuffed with seasoned beef, pickles, cheese, and sesame seeds. A playful, elevated twist on Big Mac flavors.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes
Servings: 2 croissants

Ingredients

  • 6 rice paper sheets
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sautéed ground beef
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoon diced onion
  • 2 tablespoon diced pickles
  • ¼ teaspoon Paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 tablespoon Sesame seeds ((for sprinkling))

Method

  1. Make the filling: In a bowl, combine the sautéed ground beef, mozzarella, diced onion, and pickles. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  2. Whisk the eggs on a plate. Dip three rice paper sheets into the whisked eggs one at a time, stacking them on an oiled cutting board.

  3. Using scissors, cut a triangle out of the center of the stacked rice paper. Take the two half-moon pieces and overlap them slightly on one side, leaving about 2 inches of space on the opposite side. Then place the triangle in the middle so the whole setup forms an “M” shape.

  4. Spoon the filling along the wide end of the triangle. Carefully roll everything up into a croissant shape.

Notes

  • Rice paper softens quickly once dipped, so assemble right away for best results.
  • Serve immediately while the exterior is crisp and the cheese is melty.

  1. I can’t picture what you’re describing in step three. Do you have a photo or video of how to cut the rice paper sheets?
